Integrated Services for children with special needs
Children that have special education needs are referrals from the Social Welfare Department. The professional special worker designs the individual learning plans depending on the child’s needs. The speech therapist, occupation therapist, physical therapist and psychologist from the Social Welfare Department comes to our school regularly to observe and assess the children.
On-site Pre-school Rehabilitation Services
On-site Pre-school Rehabilitation Service is another service that our school provides for the children who have special education needs. The professional special worker and therapist design individual learning plans for the children. They will also educate the parents on how to teach their special needs children positively and effectively.
Registered Social Worker
A registered social worker visits our school every week on a regular basis to provide support services for the children’s growth and adaptation, parent-child relationship, couple relationship and other family issues.
Registered Nurse
Registered nurses visit our school regularly to provide consultation services on the children’s physical development and also hold educational programmes on physical and mental health for both the children and their parents.
Seasonal Influenza Vaccination School Outreach
Since the 2019-20 school year, we have been participating in the Seasonal Influenza Vaccination School Outreach. Children are able to receive the vaccine at school administered by health care professionals.
Shatin Emmanuel Church – Care Officer
We are happy to have the preacher from Shatin Emmanuel Church as our Care Officer, who is responsible for holding a monthly children’s service and teaching bible classes every week to teach children biblical truth. The care office also conducts home visits to provide care and support for families with different needs.
Non-Chinese Speaking children
The school will render appropriate support to NCS students and parents. We provide bilingual (Chi/Eng) school notice and arrange group learning activities and individually adjust learning progress for non-Chinese speaking children.
